Rock Oil received some very welcome guests in the form of BBC reporters early yesterday morning at our Warrington HQ. As Prime Minister Theresa May launched her industrial strategy for post-Brexit Britain with a vow that the Government will 'step up' and take an active role in backing business, our Warrington HQ was featured in a series of reports for the BBC over the course of the morning. BBC news reporter, Ben Thompson, gave an impromptu tour around our operation along with 4 live interviews with our Managing Director Greg Hewitt, asking his thoughts on how SME's could benefit from the Government's backing.

Managing Director Greg Hewitt had positive comments on the experience: "We were delighted to welcome the BBC onto site to show them and their viewers that manufacturing in the UK is flourishing and that brand GB is something to be proud of. It’s testament to the continued investment in the business and the hard work of the 80 strong workforce that Rock Oil manages to produce world class lubricants which sell across the globe in many cases against much cheaper competition."

Following a fantastic 2015 supporting the British Superbike Championship, Rock Oil distributors and staff enjoyed great success at the 2016 Motorcycle Expo.

Held over three days in Stoneleigh Park, the Motorcycle Expo provides an opportunity for dealers and exhibitors to discuss business related to motorcycle products for the upcoming year. Following Rock Oil's recognition for commitment to quality with the attainment of BS EN ISO 14001:2004, discussions ranged from new launches for our motorcycle range, to forthcoming plans to further increase Rock Oil brand awareness nationally.

The Expo also gave us an opportunity to detail proposals on the continual improvement of policies and procedures within Rock, with aims to earn further accreditation based on quality management principles and a strong customer focus. Rock Oil will continue to support the BSB in 2016 and look forward to cementing the association between Rock Oil and the choice of lubricant for the racing series.

We are delighted to announce that Rock Oil has won ‘Motorcycle Trader Consumables Supplier of the Year 2015’. The award comes after a shortlist process with Motorcycle Trader magazine and then votes from within the motorcycle trade itself.

We take great pride in this award as we believe it shows vindication in the program of improvements that we have been implementing over the past 3-5 years. From multi-language labels with high impact imagery, a new website and some fantastic relationships with racing partners it shows that the brand is seen as progressive and forward thinking. We celebrate 87 years in business this year which is some achievement but there is always the need to keep driving forward and offering customers a high quality product at a cost effective price. We would like to thank all friends, customers & racing partners, without whom we would not be able to succeed.

As we start 2015 there is a lot to look forward to, starting with a presence at the Autosport Show taking place at the NEC in Birmingham. Two customers, Jamsport Racing and The National College of Motorsport were displaying the high performance Carbon range of lubricants. The recently launched range is already being used by a number of professional teams and recent independent tests conducted in the US have shown fantastic friction coefficient and wear results compared to a leading market rival.

The Motorcycle Trade Expo quickly follows the Autosport show and the Expo is really the catalyst for the start of the motorcycle season. This trade only show is a small but important event and is back at Stoneleigh Park near Coventry. Rock would like to welcome all visitors to its stand (at A38) to see the full range of motorcycle products and enjoy some light refreshments.

Directions and further information can be found on the respective sites for the Autosport Show and the Motorcycle Trade Expo

Rock Oil supported trials legend Dougie Lampkin has recently starred in a superb film produced by Red Bull Media. Tundra Trial, which launched earlier today, is the latest and biggest filming project to date for twelve times FIM Trial World Champion Dougie. He teamed up with Red Bull Media House and film director Stu Thomson of Cutting Media to produce a dramatic and exciting film shot in a harsh but beautiful environment.

For Rock Oil working with Dougie brings many positives not least the professionalism he brings to all his projects. The Tundra Trial pushed man and machine (plus oil) to its limits and the results are fantastic. We hope you enjoy watching.

Fresh from a record year we have recently invested in a bespoke new one hundred and twenty thousand litre storage vessel. With sales on the increase and the brand as high profile as it’s ever been, this re-investment is crucial in order to maintain our position as the pre-eminent independent lubricant manufacturer in the United Kingdom.

October will see the addition of a further ninety thousand litres of storage, bringing the total increase in capacity since June to three hundred thousand litres. Expanding the total storage capacity at our Warrington plant to over two point two million litres.
