The 23-year-old clinched the title when he won his second race, leaving him out of reach of his nearest rival, Poland's Jarek Hampel. All this despite re-breaking his collarbone only two weeks earlier in Stockholm at the Scandinavian Grand Prix.
Tai, who re-entered the World Championship as a wild card pick, became the first Brit to win a Grand Prix for six years when he topped the rostrum in the Czech SGP in Prague in May. He has also claimed 4 other SGP podium finishes during the year and ultra consistent riding throughout the season meant he captured his first world title despite his injuries. His title triumph caps a tremendous transition in a year which has also seen him win his maiden British Championship.
Rock are delighted to have supported Tai over the early stages of his career and look forward to helping him capture more titles in the coming years. Well done Tai!
