Disaster Averted At Rock Oil

At 09.40 yesterday morning (19/04/11) an electrical fire broke out on the blending platform at Rock Oil, Priestley Street, Warrington. Thanks to the professionalism of the highly trained staff whom contained the outbreak and the rapid and skilled response from the emergency fire service, a major catastrophe was avoided.

We are pleased to report that there were no injuries at all although there has been significant plant damage. Rock, which is enjoying the most successful period in their 82 year history were operational in the filling department within 3 + ½ hrs and although 1 of their 8 blending operations is damaged beyond repair the rest of the blending production is on schedule to be functioning within 24 hours.

The current successful run of one of the UK’s premier lubricant manufacturers has been attributed to the massive amount of time, effort and resources invested into the people, plant and procedures. That investment was richly rewarded today by the calm, professional and trained response from the staff.

After a record breaking year last year, this wasn’t the “dream” start to 2011/12 that we imagined. Hopefully the rapid recovery will enable the currently full order book to be fulfilled with the minimum disruption.

The Directors and staff would like to take this opportunity to thank the Fire Service, for their rapid and professional response.
