Following the success of the International Dirtbike Show Rock Oil are delighted to announce a partnership with OSET Bikes in 2015. We will be supporting a series of OSET events throughout the year by supplying Rock Oil products, with OSET promoting our lubricant range where possible.
The founder and CEO of OSET Bikes, Ian Smith, said: "I am delighted to be working with Rock Oil next year. We have a strong working relationship that allows us to respond to opportunities fluidly – pardon the pun! Most importantly I think the two companies share a similar set of values as we’re both family-run businesses – although Rock Oil has a good few years on us as they head towards their hundredth year in business."
Rob Sheldon, our Motorsports Manager explained: "I’m very much looking forward to working with OSET Bikes this year. The two companies enjoy a shared ethos and I think we’ll compliment each other well as we develop our working relationship over the 2015 season."
In addition to supporting OSET Bikes, we're also pleased to add two of OSET’s national level riders to our Rock rider roster, brothers Dominic and Alexander Horne from Yorkshire.
Rob added: "It’s about keeping the family theme, so to be able to support two brothers who are both set to ride at the highest level in the UK matches the quality of products with developing talented riders."
"Sponsorship within motorsport and especially trials riding is notoriously difficult to attract and we are delighted and very grateful to the support Rock Oil is able to offer Dom and Alex this year," added mum Michelle Horne "We’ll be working hard to ensure the boys continue to enjoy the sport and achieve their goals."

The 2014 International Dirtbike Show ended on Sunday complimenting a fantastic four days for the Rock Oil brand. Right from the outset we were constantly active with many hundreds of visitors and friends at the familiar black, white and green stand.
Visitors to the Rock booth were able to grab themselves a goodie bag with a selection of posters, stickers and a stick of rock (that's candy for our overseas friends!) On the stand we presented our very latest off road products and introduced our new high performance engine coolant ‘Iced Kool’ in its first public appearance. With the Rock Oil brand becoming increasingly high-profile on a global scale in addition to our new range of products in the pipeline, it's clear that the International Dirtbike Show was the ideal platform for the brand.
The show also provided us with perfect opportunities to meet with race partners and discuss plans for 2015 and beyond. We are delighted to renew our partnership with Buildbase Honda and their team of Kristian Whatley, Gert Krestinov and Luke Hawkins. We're also excited to announce we will be working with Paul Edmondson and Fast Eddy Racing as we continue our support of the UK’s Premier Enduro events. Last but certainly not least we're fired up to confirm our support of Tom Sagar and Brad Freeman in the British and European Enduro championships.

The Growing Business Awards take place in London on November the 25th. Irrespective of the final result, to be recognised as an influencial innovator in British manufacturing is a prestigious honour for everyone at Rock Oil.

Expanding the total storage capacity at our Warrington plant to over two point two million litres. After 25 years as Managing Director of Rock Oil Charles is stepping down from the position and taking up a new role as Chairman. Greg Hewitt will become Managing Director from the 2nd of April and will take over the reins with the company being the strongest it’s ever been. Charles has been instrumental in driving the company to where it is today and has led the company to a record turnover with sales in over 40 countries worldwide.
As Charles prepares to change roles in the business he was delighted to recently receive a prestigious award. He was nominated as business leader of the year by the Cheshire High Sheriff Awards and was surprised to have even been considered for nomination. Having completed 25 years in charge and with the company set to have its most successful year in its long history (85 years last September) it seemed a fitting way to end his tenure as Managing Director when he scooped the award. Charles had the following to say "I am delighted to win such a prestigious award. It recognises the significant impact of creating and leading a unified and talented team and also the worldwide success of brand Rock Oil. It has massive personal poignancy for me, as I step aside from the Managing Directors role - after 25 years. So, a massive thank you to all involved."
Greg has been with the business for 13 years himself and has played a significant role in recent years as the business has gone from strength to strength. Greg’s promotion to Managing Director does not mean Charles is taking a back seat, as his new role as Group Chairman will more than ensure he remains a very active and prominent member of the management team. Both Charles and Greg foresee yet more growth for Rock Oil with greater amounts of re-investment and a bright future for staff and trading partners.
Over the coming months we will be rebranding our product labels to include Rock Oil branded QR codes. The QR codes will be used to provide direct web links to useful information on individual products, whilst still promoting the Rock Oil branding within our packaging. The QR codes will also be dynamic, meaning that for example if a lubricant product datasheet has been updated online, the destination link from the QR code can be modified on-demand. This means that even after the custom QR code has been printed and distributed on our label packaging. The customer will always have convenient access to the latest product information at any time, direct from their mobile phone.
A QR code is a 2D barcode, scanned with a phone (such as an iphone or android phone) directing users to a website or an individual page on the internet. Regular QR codes have a blocky and unattractive design. Instead we will be using branded QR codes that follow our company colour scheme and logo. Without encroaching on the functionality of the QR code itself. Letting consumers know that the information provided by the QR code is directly from Rock Oil and relevant to the product or service it is being used with. Over time we will be incorporating QR codes where applicable on our offline marketing to make it easier for customers and distributors to find the information they need directly from our website.
