Buildbase BMW rider Ryuichi Kiyonari scorched to a win in the first race at the Knockhill British Superbike round this past weekend. Kiyo was in dominant form all weekend and only narrowly lost out in the second race when he finished 2nd albeit with a new lap record. The BMW S 1000 running Synthesis Motorcycle 5W-40 has had an fantastic June after claiming wins at the Isle of man TT event and now winning its first ever British Superbike race.
Teammate James Westmoreland had a less successful weekend crashing out in the second race after colliding with another rider on the opening lap. This came after a heroic ride in the first race, which he started from pit lane after having to have a fuel pump wire replaced, and pulled back over 15 places to finish in the top ten from dead last.
Buildbase BMW are hoping that they continue their winning ways at the remaining rounds as both Kiyo and James target places in the superbike shootout at the last 3 rounds and with form like that shown this past weekend it seems certain that they will play a major role in the title destination this year.
