It is a racing update from both ends of the spectrum with first the very sad news of the passing of Simon Andrews. Simon passed away on the 19th following injuries sustained in a crash at the Northwest 200 over the weekend. Simon found himself riding in Rock Oil supported teams more often than not and only this year was contesting the British Superbike Championship onboard the Rock supported RAF Reserves Honda team. Rock Oil were partnered with MSS Kawasaki when Simon enjoyed a fantastic season in 2009 and obtained his first Superbike podium. All at Rock would like to pass on their best wishes to the family and friends of Simon at this difficult time.
The same meeting which claimed Simon's life also yielded some fantastic results for Rock supported teams and Michael Dunlop rightly claimed man of the meeting after winning both the Superstock race and the feature Superbike race of the day. Michael who was riding the Rock Oil supported Hawk/Motorrad BMW and his own BMW Superstock machine took the race wins in some style and combined with his 2nd place in the first Superbike race and 2 other podium places was rightly acknowledged as the rider of the meeting. Michael must surely be regarded as the man to beat at the upcoming Isle of Man TT races. Well done Michael.
