...which is a circuit suited to the BMW, both will be hopeful of getting on the podium and consolidating their positions in the top 6. Other Rock sponsored BSB teams such as MotoGB, Padgetts and MH Kawasaki have enjoyed mixed success, though with over half the races remaining, there is time for all teams to improve and go up the championship table
In the Supersport class, long time partners Gearlink Kawasaki have continued their fantastic start to the season with a number of race wins. Both Alistair Seeley and Ben Wilson have won races and they currently sit in 1st and 3rd place championship. There is no doubt they will both be contesting for the overall title at the end of the season. In 2011 Alistair won the British title by just one point from Ben so you can be sure it will go all the way to the last round!
In the off road arena, our premier MX team Buildbase Honda have had a mixed season and with the loss of Steve Ramon from the team it hasn't quite gone to plan. However, with the recent signing of multiple British champion Brad Anderson, fortunes now look to be on the up. Brad has ridden for Rock sponsored teams many times in the past and we are delighted to be supporting him once again. In spite of the uncertainty team mate Nico Aubin has been challenging on all fronts and sits in 2nd place in the MX1 Red Bull Pro Nationals and 4th in the British Maxxis MX1. Heads and Threads Suzuki are also enjoying a productive campaign with Graeme Irwin currently sitting in 4th place in the MX2 category in both the Red Bull Pro Nationals and Maxxis championships. Both teams will be looking for a strong finish to the season and plenty of championship points.
Our increased sponsorship program now means we have a very strong presence in Enduro and 2013 means we have entered the second year of our partnership with Paul Edmondson and his Fasteddyracing team. As mentioned in our last racing update the team now includes multiple world champion David Knight who had a fantastic start to the season but unfortunately has been out injured for a number of weeks but is expected to be back competing nationally and internationally during August. A new racing partner for 2013 is the Husaberg enduro team Midwest Racing. They are competing in both British and international enduro events and rider Jamie McCanney captured the world Enduro Youth 125CC title in June. Other riders in the team include Tom Church and Aaron Poolman both of whom are competing in various national enduro series.
Current British speedway champion Tai Woffindens amazing form continues in spite of a nasty injury obtained at the British Speedway GP back in June. His second place finish in Saturdays Italian GP shows that not only is he back to his best but he remains focussed on capturing his first World title. Tai has been in blistering form all year and but for his injury would be leading the world championship. As it is he is currently in 2nd place and only 5 points behind Emil Sayfutdinov.
We are pleased to report that we have also recently supported two major trials events. The first being the British Trial GP at Nord Vue, Cumbria. Our involvement in this major international event meant the Rock Oil brand was televised to a global audience. There was plentiful Rock branding around the course and on the promotional material for the event. We were delighted to be involved and look forward to assisting with the event again in the future. We were also pleased to help with the North Berks Super Trial which is a national event which invites the top trial riders in the country to come and compete. Our sponsorship ensured we had prominent branding at both the event and in supporting promotional material.
