Racing News

With the snow finally releasing its grip on the country, Rock Oil supported teams begin the 2013 season with plenty to be optimistic about. The first round of the BSB season took place on the 7th of April under bright but cold conditions.

john kirkhamBuildbase BMW enjoyed a particularly strong start with Jon Kirham just missing the podium in race one finishing 4th and then following up with a 6th in race two. Other Rock sponsored BSB team such as MotoGB, Padgetts and MH Kawasaki finished further back in the field but with Dan Linfoot of MotoGB competing for a podium in race one before crashing out injured, the series looks set to be very competitive amongst all the Rock supported teams.

In the supersport class, long time partners Gearlink Kawasaki had a fantastic start to the season with a race win and two podiums from riders Alistair Seeley and Ben Wilson. Both riders look set to be amongst the favourites for the overall supersport title. With the second round at Thruxton this weekend, both riders will be keen to step on the podium once again.

In and amongst the snow showers the British Maxxis championship has started with Dave Thorpes Buildbase Honda team amongst the favourites for the MX 1 title. Both Steven Ramon and Nico Aubin have started well with Nico Aubin in 4th place overall in the MX1. Our other motocross teams, Revo Talon Kawasaki and Heads and Threads Suzuki have also started very well with Nathan Parker of Revo Talon Kawasaki lying in 7th overall in the MX1 and Graeme Irwin of Heads and Threads Suzuki in 5th place in the MX2 championship.

heads threads_suzukiOur involvement with Paul Edmondson of Fasteddy racing continues in to 2013 and with a number of enduro events supported along with top class riders our exposure in Enduro will be as high as ever and with the addition of legendary rider David Knight presence both in the UK and in Glodal events. David has been competing in events such as the GP of Argentina in the world enduro championship and will shortly be competing in Europe in more international enduro events.

More racing updates will follow soon.
