The whole process was filmed by the BBC and narrated by Bill Nighy, one of Britains finest actors. The first part of the documentary was shown last Sunday on BBC 2 at 10pm and part two is to be aired this Sunday at the same time. These enterprising biking enthusiast prepared specialist machines to of various vintages to compete at Bonneville. Best of all is that they all ran on Rock Oil!
The first episode has been watched by over 3 million people thus far and Rock have had some fantastic coverage on the bikes of these garden shed engineers. We were approached by one of the riders a little under 12 months ago who wanted a proper British product and a damn good oil to help him and his friends compete at Bonneville. We were only to happy to help and supplied all the engine and ancillary products for the endeavour. Bikes range from a modified 1942 Indian 741, to a supercharged 1973 Triumph T120 running on Methanol.
The response to our involvement has been fantastic and customers old and hopefully new have been in touch to let us know how much they enjoyed the program and were delighted Rock Oil was visible so clearly in such a major production. Tune in for part 2 on Sunday.
